Long Pilgrimage was written in 1994, in the memory of a woman who spent most of her life seeking for an inner true meaning in life, and who lived according to her ideas. The music is in no sense a description of her person or her life as a narrative, rather a reverberation left in one who knew her, and who learned from her. The title is taken from a book by John G. Bennett, English philosopher and teacher in the tradition of Gurdijeff-Ouspensky.
